Urban transformation

Why use a consultant for urban transformation?

Urban transformation is a lengthy process that runs through offers, contracts, design and construction, and assessing the technical and legal details alone is difficult. A consultant helps you make informed decisions and see that your rights are clearly reflected in the contract.

Do you choose the contractor?

The choice of contractor rests with the property owners. We make the offers comparable using the same criteria and report on their strengths and weaknesses to support your decision.

Do you carry out risky building assessments?

Under Turkish regulations, risky building assessments are carried out by authorised institutions and organisations. We advise property owners on the offers, contracts, costs and construction that follow the assessment.

Does your construction oversight replace statutory building inspection?

No. Statutory building inspection is carried out by licensed building inspection firms. Our oversight service monitors, on behalf of property owners, whether the work is progressing in line with the contract and technical specifications, and complements the statutory inspection.

Can you work for all the owners in a building?

We can plan the service for an individual unit owner or for representatives jointly authorised by the owners. We agree the scope and our points of contact in the first meeting.

Engineering and infrastructure

What types of floating structures do you work on?

We carry out stability and other engineering calculations for all floating structures. For feasibility and basic design, we focus on special floating structures such as factory ships, floating homes, floating marina systems and special-purpose buoys.

What is a stability calculation and why does it matter?

A stability calculation shows whether a floating structure can stay balanced under different loading and environmental conditions. It is one of the key inputs for verifying a design and for safe operation.

What does a feasibility study cover?

It assesses the project's technical viability, design options, expected cost items and potential risks. The goal is to see the project's strengths and weaknesses clearly before an investment decision is made.

Which standards do you work to?

Depending on the type of project, we work to the applicable national and international standards, relevant rules and general engineering principles. We agree with you at the outset which set of rules will apply.

Can I combine engineering and infrastructure services?

Yes. If a project needs both calculation and design support and the planning and coordination of infrastructure works, we can define the scope together and set out a single work plan.

Foreign trade

What is GTİP and why does correct classification matter?

GTİP (Gümrük Tarife İstatistik Pozisyonu) is Türkiye's customs tariff code, showing where goods sit in the customs tariff schedule. Duties, and the permits and inspections required for imports and exports, are determined by this code, so misclassification can lead to additional duties and penalties.

Who handles the formal procedures at customs?

Sıla Group plans, coordinates and follows up your import and export processes. Steps that the regulations reserve for authorised parties, such as lodging a declaration as a representative, are carried out by licensed customs brokers (gümrük müşaviri) or your company's own authorised staff, as the law requires; we prepare the documents and track every step.

What are A.TR and EUR.1 certificates for?

The A.TR movement certificate documents the free circulation of goods covered by the Türkiye–EU Customs Union. The EUR.1 movement certificate proves origin so that exports to countries with a free trade agreement can benefit from preferential duty rates. Which one you need depends on the product and the destination.

Which documents do I need to share?

For exports: invoice details, product specifications, packaging and weight information, and buyer details. For imports: the supplier's invoice, a transport document such as a bill of lading or CMR, a packing list and, where available, proof of origin. We may ask for additional documents depending on the transaction.

Can I find out import duties in advance?

Yes. Once the GTİP code is determined, we calculate customs duties and other costs based on the value and origin of the goods and inform you before the declaration is registered. The final amount is set following the customs authority's checks.

Investment consultancy

Who is your investment consultancy for?

It is for owners of ready investment projects who are looking for financing or partners, and for financing investors who want access to projects worth evaluating.

Do you guarantee that my project will be financed?

No. Financing decisions rest with the investors and financial institutions that assess the project. We help prepare your project properly and connect it with suitable parties.

What information do you need for an initial assessment?

A project summary, the investment amount and financing need, any feasibility study, the status of permits and licences, and basic financial information are enough for a first look. We'll identify any gaps together.

What does your advisory board do?

Our advisory board is made up of people serving as senior executives in various sectors. We draw on their experience when assessing projects from a sector and investor perspective.

Do you give advice on shares or other capital market instruments?

No. Our service is corporate advisory on preparing, assessing and financing project investments; it does not include investment advice on capital market instruments.
